Why did Hamas launch the brutal assault of October 7th? Is the Israeli response justified, and what are the implications for the region and the world? Why has this crisis had such a profound effect in the United States, ranging from concerns over campus antisemitism to the 2024 election? Professor Eric Fleury of Connecticut College will address these questions and others, with ample time for questions from the audience.

Eric Fleury is an Assistant Professor of Government and International Relations at Connecticut College, where he teaches courses on U.S. Foreign Policy, Terrorism, Diplomacy, and International Ethics. He received his PhD from Baylor University, and is the author of On Absolute War: Terrorism and the Logic of Armed Conflict, published in 2019.
